MB Planning privacy notice

MB Planning is the practice of Mikael Buchel Kotze, an independent financial adviser and authorised financial services provider in South Africa. This notice explains how we handle personal information when we email you or chat with you on WhatsApp, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we keep

Your name, contact details (email address, phone number), professional details you share publicly or with us (such as your LinkedIn profile), and the messages you exchange with us, including what you tell us about your situation and needs.

Why

To stay in touch with clients, to answer your questions, to arrange meetings, and, if you agree, to tell you how we could help. We only message you on WhatsApp if you have agreed to it or messaged us first.

Our WhatsApp assistant

Messages to our WhatsApp number may first be answered by a digital assistant that uses artificial intelligence (provided by Anthropic) to reply to general questions. It never gives financial advice: anything personal is passed to Mikael Buchel Kotze, who replies personally. Message content is processed by Meta (WhatsApp) and Anthropic to provide this service.

Your choices

Reply STOP on WhatsApp, or use the unsubscribe link in any email, and we will not contact you again. You may ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.

Keeping it safe

Your information is stored in a secured system in the European Union, protected by encryption and two-factor login, and is never sold.
